GRAVA Training
 

Activities/projects undertaken:

  • MAC Retrofit demonstration September 16th 2007
  • Training in Good Practice. Recovery and Recycling
  • Training in alternative technology (Hydro Carbon)
  • Training in R410a and R407C
  • Develop code of good practice
  • Develop licensing system for the Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration technicians
  • Develop training module on good practice, alternative technologies and the application of natural refrigerants
 

Upcoming Events (Go Green)

The Grenada Refrigeration, Air-condition and Ventilating Association (GRAVA) in collaboration with the National Ozone Unit of Grenada as part of its objectives to update and prepare technicians for the transfer of technology that the Refrigeration and Air-condition industry is currently experiencing has organized a series of training opportunities for local technicians. These training activities are also endorsed by the National Ozone Unit (NOU) and forms an integral component of Grenada's Terminal Phase-out Management Plan (TPMP) for CFC/Ozone Depleting refrigerants.

Among the many training activities scheduled are:

•  Training in Retrofitting, Recovery and Recycling - October 10th and 17th, 2009 (2 days)

•  Training in Retrofitting, Recovery and Recycling - October 24th and 31st, 2009 (2 days)

Each of these trainings will be a certified training course and would include 6 hours theoretical and 6 hours practical work. To be certified, participants will have to successfully complete the course evaluation on Day 2.

The cost for these trainings will be EC$100.00. A maximum of fifteen persons will be allowed for each training date and applicants will be accepted on a first come first serve basis.

The tentative venue is the T. A. Marryshow Community College, Tanteen, St. George's and will be conducted by President of GRAVA, Mr. Michael Mitchell.

•  Training in Hydrocarbon Refrigerants - November 2009

This training will be conducted by Mr. Michael Cadore and Mr. Henry Frederick, two of our local technicians who will be going off to Belize to attend a training workshop in Hydrocarbons from October 13th to 15th, 2009.

More details on this training will be provided subsequently.
